About the authors. . .
 

Linda Wedwick is an assistant professor and the Interim Director of the Center for Reading and Literacy within the College of Education at Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois.  She currently teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses in assessment and early adolescent literacy learning.  Linda is a former middle school teacher and reading specialist.  She has extensively researched self-selection of books and adolescent literature.  She is the recipient of the Clarence W. Sorensen Distinguished Dissertation Award and the Mary S. Arnold Research Award.  She has authored book chapters in addition to articles that appear in The Reading Teacher, Voices from the Middle, Studies in Pop Culture, and a recent book from the International Reading Association.

Jessica Ann Wutz is a certified reading specialist and a first grade teacher at Thomas Metcalf Laboratory School in Normal, Illinois.  She is also an instructor of early childhood literacy education at Illinois State University.  BOOKMATCH continues to be the focus of her classroom action research. Her articles on BOOKMATCH have appeared in The Reading Teacher, Voices from the Middle, and a recent book from the International Reading Association.
